  1. Excellent piece! Much better than anything Greg DeLiso has written. Really, this is a remarkably insightful, nuanced take on the film. It illuminates the movie’s sociopolitical themes in ways I’ve never seen before. And the prose just sings. So when I sa it’s better than DeLiso, well, it’s also better than John D’Amico’s piece, better than J. Hoberman, better than Andre freakin’ Bazin. I’m in tears. Thank you, sir.
